Capa di Roma at Expo East
On October 17th we went to Natural Products Expo East 2008 in Boston to check out the latest in natural foods and, of course, all the package designs. Our friends at Capa di Roma were exhibiting at the show and it was great to see them there. Emilia and Frankie Cappaccio have done a fabulous job marketing their restaurant’s delicious pasta sauces. 2008 Connecticut Specialty Food Product Awards Announced Hartford, CT – The CT Specialty Food Association (CSFA) held its eighth Product Awards Competition on Tuesday, October 28, 2008, at the Aqua Turf in Plantsville. One hundred seventy-eight specialty food items from Connecticut-based manufacturers were entered into 19 categories, with hopes of receiving the prestigious honor of CSFA Product Award Winner 2008.
A panel of 27 judges consisting of local media personalities, food writers, and chefs from the CT Department of Agriculture’s Farm-to-Chef Program scored products on overall taste, originality, variety, and flavor. Each judge was assigned to specific categories, responsible for evaluating an average of approximately 40 different products.
