Peerless® Handcuff Company was established in 1914 in Springfield, Massachusetts. Over ninety years later, the classic swing through design of the original Peerless® handcuff, continues to be the industry standard. Peerless offers a full range of metallic restraint products and accessories. These products are used by law enforcement, corrections and military agencies throughout the US and in countries around the world. Recent additions to their product line include new color-plated restraints. The different color finishes prevent equipment loss by allowing individuals, agencies or departments to more easily identify and track property. These restraints won Best in Show at the 2008 International Association of Chiefs of Police trade show.

Peerless chose Stevens 470 to redesign and rebuild their website. We worked closely with Peerless to create a new design that worked well online, while keeping their established brand image. The new website is built on a powerful Content Management System (CMS) that allows Peerless to update their website through an easy-to-use text editor feature. They can update pages, create content and manage their own images.

Because Peerless® products are sold through a well established national dealer network, the new website has a dealer locator that searches dealers by zip code and mileage range: http://www.peerless.net/dealer-locator.html

The Peerless website is both front-end and back-end accessible to people with disabilities and is written to meet XHTML standards set by the W3C (The World Wide Web Consortium), allowing it to be accessed by more people using a wide variety of systems.
